It has been just three weeks since the summer transfer window but rumors at Bayern Munich are still swirling. Transfer news doesn’t stop just because the window is over.
Corentin Tolisso was signed by FC Bayern in 2017 for over €40 million, which was the Bavarian giants’ record transfer at the time. Tolisso’s time at Bayern Munich has been anything but smooth and his journey in Munich will end by the summer at the latest.
Tolisso was never able to meet expectations but a large reason for this was Tolisso’s long list of injuries that prevented him from consistent playtime and why he never got into his groove. However, the 27-year-old certainly still has the quality and can shine when fully fit.
Top clubs are said to be lining up to purchase Tolisso in the winter. Unfortunately, Tolisso will most likely leave Bayern for free as his contract will expire next summer and there is no interest from either party to continue negotiations. Bayern Munich would have liked to sell the French midfielder this past transfer window but no club was willing to pay the required fee.
Tolisso has long been rumored to leave Munich for seasons now, but no sale was ever made. Bayern would have loved to sell him to collect a quick sum and save significant wages. Sadly, Tolisso’s time with Bayern won’t be looked at too fondly.

According to media reports, Tolisso is highly rated in Italy. Clubs such as Napoli, AC Milan, and Inter Milan are said to be interested in the 2018 World Cup winner. Now that teams will be able to negotiate with the player and exclude Bayern from negotiations, things will move quickly in January.
Bayern Munich still aims to sell Tolisso ahead of the transfer window for a small cash-in but they would need to negotiate quickly or else Tolisso will join the evergrowing list of players to leave Bayern Munich on a free.
