Jamal Musiala named Bayern Munich Player of the Month for August

Jamal Musiala was named Bayern Munich Player of the Month for August with 50% of the vote, per a statement from the club. The vote is done by the fans via club sponsor Deutsche Telekom. Robert Lewandowski (28%) was the only other player to get more than 5%.

This is the second time that Musiala has won the Player of the Month award in his young career. The first was April 2021.

Musiala nabbed three goals and one assist during the August matches which help propelled him to this win. However, it wasn’t just the goals/assists that Musiala used to impress the fans. The early season matches in August were full of Bayern transitioning from a busy summer thanks to internationals into a quick season start alongside integrating a new coach to the team. Musiala was an early bright spot, using his dribbling and willingness to take people on electrified fans and helped drag the club through the early doldrums.
