According to a report from Fussball Transfers, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are both eyeing 22-year-old Benfica striker Darwin Nunez:
Two Bundesliga clubs are eyeing Portugal. Darwin Nunez from Benfica Lisbon has been attracting attention there for some time. The Uruguayan is in hot demand internationally and, according to FT information, FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen have already inquired about the striker.
The officials of the two aforementioned clubs picked up the phone to find out on what terms the 22-year-old would be available. Benfica, however, is said to be demanding a very high transfer fee, and a move in the transfer period that ended yesterday was never on the table. But that could change in the future.
The German clubs are not alone, however. Clubs from England (including Brighton & Hove Albion FC) and Italy are also lobbing inquiries toward Benfica for the Uruguayan forward.
Nunez had 14 assists and 12 assists in 44 games across all competitions last season for Benfica. This season, Nunez has not tallied any goals or assists in two games so far.
