Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann knows that he has a roster full of capable players and that finding a way to keep them all fresh — and happy — is not gong to be easy.
Ahead of his squad’s eventual win over VfL Bochum, Nagelsmann knew he would need to make some difficult decisions in holding back Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, and Jamal Musiala, but the coach explain his decision.
“(Musiala) has already played a lot of games. Serge Gnabry is coming back, Leroy Sané is in a good mood. Jamal has a lot of strain on his legs, he needs this freshness. We don’t want to overload him,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by Tz).
As for Pavard and Upamecano, Nagelsmann thinks it is best to be conservative with the Frenchmen.
“Benji Pavard was injured for a long time, Josip Stanisic always did well when he came in. Upamecano also gets a break, from the control it now fits perfectly that Niklas Süle comes in,” Nagelsmann remarked.
