At Leon Goretzka’s press conference to announce his new deal with Bayern Munich, club sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic addressed the current status of negotiations with defender Niklas Süle.
Salihamidzic said there was “nothing new” to report on the negotiations and indicated that talks will happen in the coming months. Many are already speculating that the club will hold talks with Süle during the winter break and make a formal decision on the player’s future with the club at that point.
While Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano are also starting-caliber center-backs on the roster, Süle has performed extremely well so far this season. With his combinations of size, speed, and skill, Süle looks to be in good shape and good form this season.
During the 2020/2021 campaign, Süle was in the first season after a major knee injury and was not at his best. Now, however, things look to have changed and Bayern Munich — along with some other suitors across Europe — could seeking to ink the defender to a long-term deal.
