Bayern Munich did not come right out and dominate in its 3-0 Champions League victory over FC Barcelona, but the Bavarians did end up showing their prowess.
Midfielder Joshua Kimmich acknowledged things were not always easy for Bayern Munich and maybe his team got a bit lucky with Thomas Müller’s deflection goal, but the German Rekordmeister was eventually able to assert itself very nicely to control play.
“We didn’t get into the game so easily, it was very intense. We were lucky to make it 1-0, but were already the better team in the first half and could have been winning my even more,” said Kimmich (as captured by Tz).
The Germany international would, however, like to see his side reduce its errors, but overall he saw a lot of good things.
“We made a few easy mistakes. We could have avoided those,” Kimmich said. “In the end, we can be satisfied. After Hertha (Bayern Munich’s 5-0 win), it was only our second commanding victory. The trend is right and I hope we can build on that.”
