Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer made it through the big match against his old club, RB Leipzig over the weekend and recently talked through how life is different these days.

“There are differences when it comes to media exposure and hype. There is something special about Säbener Straße. The players are coming back now, then I’ll get to know the real FC Bayern,” Sabitzer said (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “The situation has changed for me. At RB I was a starter and captain. I’m now a challenger at FC Bayern, I’m well aware of that. There are players in my position with a lot of quality. I will give everything to get my spot here.”

As for what spot on the pitch that might be, Sabitzer had a distinct role that he favors.

“If I had to choose a preferred position, it would be left central midfielder. On one hand, to work off the ball, but also to be creative on the ball,” Sabitzer stated.

There have been rumors that the Austrian could be in line for a start against FC Barcelona on Tuesday in the Champions League. With many Bayern Munich players racking up mileage for both club and country, Sabitzer could see a lot of field time over the course of this season.
