Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann can see his team is headed in the right direction, but also understands the implementation of all of his processes and practices will take time.

“Yes, the team has already incorporated it better. It takes time, and the international break interrupted it a bit because the players were gone for a week and a half. Overall it’s better than at the start,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “So far it’s been relatively quiet, but that will change at some point. The beginning was a bit tricky with the friendlies. But that’s normal: A new coach comes and doesn’t win a single friendly, you ask yourself: What’s going on?”

Nagelsmann, however, feel great about the squad’s progress.

“Generally speaking, I feel really good. The way we act as a coaching staff is well received in the club. We exude good energy. The club is very happy with the way we treat each other. It is always important to me to be open, even towards employees in other areas,” Nagelsmann said. “In Leipzig and Hoffenheim, we (the coaching team) developed a great spirit at the club. That’s also our task in Munich, and also a big wish of Uli Hoeneß: to have that familiar atmosphere again, which was a bit gone in the past. We want to have that back. I think we’ve managed to do that quite well so far. A lot of course has to do with results. It’s easier with wins than with defeats. That’s also clear.”
