If Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann wants to achieve his goals with his new club, the young boss knows that the journey must start at Camp Nou against FC Barcelona.

“The expectation at FC Bayern is to be among the top 3 in Europe. Obviously this is the most coveted trophy in European football. I think the players all really want to win it for the club again. The same is true for me, of course,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by Twitter account @FCBayernEN). “They’ve no longer got someone as extravagant as (Lionel) Messi, but they have other players who can make a difference. We are prepared for everything. I’m not of the opinion that they are a lot worse off now. In any case, we definitely want three points.”

As for how different Barca will look without Messi, Nagelsmann still sees multiple threats.

“They play very differently (without Messi). Lionel is a player who is always the focal point. Now the responsibility is divided. With (Memphis) Depay and Luuk de Jong they have two very interesting new players with different qualities. I definitely wouldn’t say they got worse,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia).
