When Serge Gnabry left Bayern Munich’s big Bundesliga showdown with RB Leipzig prematurely, the panic alarm could have sounded.
Julian Nagelsmann, however, did not have to worry all that much. The new boss just had to look down at his bench, summon “should be starter” Jamal Musiala, and let things play out.
Musiala, of course, had a goal and an assist in another standout performance to help the Bavarians clinch a 4-1 victory.
“It was a lot of fun. We had a tough time, but we persevered. Sometimes we could have had a little more possession. But in the end, everything fit,” Musiala said (as captured by Tz).
Musiala’s impact was immediately felt when he scored in the 47th minute.
“There’s not much time to think, you train for situations like that. You don’t think much. It was a super ball from Phonzie (Alphonso Davies),” Musiala said of his goal.
As for his assist, Musiala credited Leroy Sane’s recent turnaround.
“Leroy is in super form. It’s just fun to see something like that and to have him as a teammate. He’s on his way to a top level,” said Musiala.
