Brazzo and Flick made amends over wine (Sport1-Doppelpass via @iMiaSanMia)

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic and former, sextuple-winning coach Hansi Flick has a pretty significant blowout last season over transfers and squad planning.

The rift became so bad that Flick ultimately walked away from one of the best jobs in the world. Salihamidzic, though, says that the two men have worked things out. Some of you might be wondering if a “bro hug” was involved, but one thing we can say for certain helped smooth things over was some wine:

Marsch admits Sabitzer could leave (Transfer Market Web)

RB Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch sounds like he knows he might have to plan without Marcel Sabitzer:

RB Leipzig manager Jesse Marsch has admitted that Marcel Sabitzer could leave the club this summer. The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with Bayern Munich, and Marsch gave an update on his situation after his side’s 4-0 DFB Pokal win over Sandhausen on Saturday.

“It is entirely possible that Sabi leaves,” said the Leipzig boss. “He only has one year of contract left - let’s see what happens to him.”

ICYMI: The Weekend Warm-up Podcast (Bavarian Football Works)

It was a crazy week in terms of Bayern Munich news and we’re talking about the absolute biggest stories!

What happened, you ask? Well, you came to the right place to find out. The hot topics we hit on this week include:

  • Joshua Zirkzee’s preseason was bad, but he will get a chance to start over with a loan to RSC Anderlecht.
  • Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka could both extend their contracts with the club shortly.
  • Bayern Munich’s rumored pursuit of RB Leipzig star midfielder Marcel Sabitzer.

Pep wants Kane (kicker)

I guess there is no beating around the bush with this transfer rumor as Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed his club’s interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane:

Pep Guardiola confirmed Manchester City’s interest in Harry Kane (28, contract until 2024) on Friday. “We’re interested in him,” said the coach. “But if Tottenham doesn’t want to negotiate, there’s nothing more to say.” England’s top scorer wants to leave Spurs after eight years and apparently did not show up on Monday against the agreements. Whether he will still get his way is open: Tottenham boss Daniel Levy does not actually want to sell him within the Premier League.

Juve still aiming for Locatelli (Transfer Market Web)

Juventus is still striving to sign Manuel Locatelli, but things have not been easy:

Juventus does not give up for Manuel Locatelli. The Sassuolo midfielder is always on the Juventus radar but the situation is not easy.

According to reports from today’s edition of Tuttosport, a new meeting between Cherubini and Carnevali is expected mid-week, the fourth meeting since June, to try to find an agreement.

The idea, is that they want to find an agreement with Andrea Agnelli’s club to make a further effort. In fact, the relaunch bid would be represented by a two-year loan for a total of 32 million for evaluation and mandatory redemption in the event of a Champions League match.

The reason Locatelli’s status is so important is that Juventus — allegedly — see Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso as one of their fallback choices. Tolisso, of course, has made news of late because if Bayern Munich is able to sell him, the club would — reportedly — then have the funds to put together a competitive bid package for RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer.

Mourinho among four sent off in Roma friendly (ESPN)

Did you ever see four people sent off in a friendly? Well, if you watched AS Roma vs. Real Betis you did:

AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho was sent off as his side ended with just eight players in their 5-2 friendly defeat to Real Betis on Saturday.

Mourinho, who was appointed Roma boss in May after he was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, was dismissed on 60 minutes after he furiously approached referee Jorge Figueroa following Betis’ third goal.

Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini received a second yellow card when protesting the opponent’s third goal, while defenders Gianluca Mancini and Rick Karsdorp were also dismissed after two separate incidents later in the game.
