Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic was featured on Sport1-Doppelpass and hit on a number of topics.
We already heard the news that Bayern Munich is keeping close tabs on Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but we also got a chance to hear the sporting director’s latest takes on his transfer moves this summer and the club’s ongoing contract negotiations with current players (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia).
“With (Dayot) Upamecano and Omar Richards we signed two young players. Then we have to see what’s possible. We are currently looking further into the transfer market, there’s not much movement. But we’re keeping our eyes open and will do what’s possible,” said Salihamidzic.
As for the current negotiations going on, Salihamidzic is not a fan of commenting on such matters — but kind of did anyway.
“It would be better not to always speak about contracts. I understand transfers are an exciting topic for the media. But for us it’s more important that the players know they have reliable negotiation partners” said Salihamidzic. “So I can’t talk about how advanced the talks are now. It is clear that we want to keep this core of players — (Joshua) Kimmich, (Leon) Goretzka, (Manuel) Neuer, (Thomas) Müller, (Robert Lewandowski) Lewa — and want to develop players around them who can fill in their roles when top players are sidelined.”
