Bayern Munich II held on late to pick up a point against FV Illertissen on Saturday after a 1-1 draw. Despite the two dropped points, Bayern II will stay alone at the top of the table for at least another week.
The match featured the Bayern II debut this season for Torben Rhein who had been training with the first team this summer. Lukas Schneller and Maximilian Welzmüller also returned to the squad after injuries.
Oliver Batista Meier converted a penalty kick for Bayern II in the 15th minute for his fourth goal of the season. Following halftime, captain Nicolas Feldhahn put his header off the crossbar, but Bayern II were unable to find a second goal. Unfortunately, in the 76th minute, Illertissen found the equalizer through Semir Telalovic.
