Bayern Munich have won the 2021 Women’s French Cup after beating AS Roma 4-0 on Friday. This came after the Bavarians topped Lyon 4-2 in the semifinal earlier in the week.
After a dominant first half in which Bayern failed to score, it was Vivianne Asseyi who got them on the board in the 51st minute. Klara Bühl would double Bayern’s lead in the 70th minute, and then made it 3-0 in the 79th. Three minutes later, Lea Schüller capped the day with Bayern’s fourth.
The Bavarians were without Hanna Glas, Sofia Jakobsson, Lina Magull, Lineth Beerensteyn, Saki Kumagai, Ivana Rudelić, Kristin Demann, Giulia Gwinn, Sydney Lohmann and Mala Grohs in the tournament. In good news for Bayern, seventeen year old Julia Landenberger made her debut with the first team.
