Bayern Munich loanee Alexander Nübel is not immune to having to compete for playing time.
At Schlake 04, Nübel was pushed by fellow youngster Markus Schubert. Last season, Nübel theoretically did battle with Manuel Neuer, but going toe-to-toe with Neuer never ends up well for anyone.
Now on loan at AS Monaco, Nübel is competing with Benjamin Lecomte, Radoslaw Majecki, and Vito Mannone for playing time. The former Schalke 04 man is confident in his own ability and knows that they players will all support each other in their respective quests for playing time.
“At all the clubs there is competition, Monaco is no exception to the rule,” Nübel said to AS Monaco’s club website. “There is a good sense of friendliness with Benjamin, Vito and Radoslaw. We help each other, we talk to each other a lot. It is our performance in training that will allow us to play.”
As of now, Nübel looks to be the favorite to garner the majority of playing time, but the youngster surely knows that he is only as good as his last match.
