A Bayern Munich player will medal at the Tokyo Olympics after Sweden beat Australia 1-0 to advance to the Thursday’s Gold Medal game.

Sweden are represented by Bayern’s Hanna Glas and Sofia Jakobsson. Both players went 90 minutes in the win against Australia, with Jakobsson coming off in stoppage time. The winner was scored by former Bayern player Fridolina Rolfö, and former Bayern centerback Amanda Illestedt also played the entire match for Sweden.

In the other Semifinal, the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup champions United States were dumped out on a Jessie Fleming penalty in the 74th minute after a poor tournament saw the Americans never really get going.

Either Sweden or Canada will win their first Olympic Gold Medal, and the match will be the first Finals win in a major tournament since Sweden won the 1984 UEFA Women’s Championship.
