Transfer Deadline Watch: Bayern Munich’s Marvin Cuni goes off to SC Paderborn; FC Dallas star Justin Che seems set for January move

Some moves are happening in the background of a frantic final hours.

According to Sport Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl, Bayern Munich has reached an agreement with 20-year-old forward Marvin Cuni to extend his contract through 2024. Cuni will now move on to SC Paderborn on a loan assignment per Altschäffl.

Caught in a strong mix of attackers, Cuni should get the opportunity to develop further with Paderborn:

News from the campus: Talent Marvin Cuni (20) extends FC Bayern until 2024 and is loaned to Paderborn for a year. Justin Che (17) will stay at FC Dallas for half a year and will then come back to FC Bayern.

In addition to the Cuni news, Altschäffl followed up on the earlier reports linking FC Dallas defender Justin Che to Bayern Munich. Che is expected to join Bayern Munich in January once FC Dallas’ current MLS season is complete.

It is unclear if Che would be with the first-team or Bayern Munich II, but roster space is at a premium — at least for this season — under Julian Nagelsmann.
