Sport Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl is reporting that the long-rumored Marcel Sabitzer-to-Bayern Munich transfer is expected to be announced shortly.

The expected fees are roughly €15 million, but could have escalators built in to push the deal to be higher. Still, the deal has to be considered an absolute steal for the Bavarians, who are acquiring the man some regard as the best current Bundesliga player not currently on Bayern Munich’s own roster:

The Sabitzer package has been approved by all bodies at FC Bayern, the deal is through and will be announced soon. Transfer fee under 15 million, but bonuses built into the contract term.

Sport Bild’s Christian Falk added his two cents (aka “True” or “Not True”):

Aside of the impending announcement, there was also some interesting news about where Sabitzer could player per SPOX journalist Kerry Hau.

Per Hau, Sabitzer might not be confined to a role within the central midfielder. Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann could use Sabitzer as a winger as well, which help convince the club to drop its rumored pursuit of Amine Adli. Adli, of course, eventually signed with Bayer Leverkusen.
