In an interview with Bild, Germany manager Hansi Flick spoke in detail on how he plans to utilize prominent national team players, including Bayern Munich ace Thomas Müller. The attacking-midfielder played a key role during Flick’s two-season tenure at Die Roten and repaid his coach’s trust with phenomenal performances. In his latest interview, the new Bundestrainer has confirmed that he will rely on Müller as his right-hand man for the national team as well.

“I don’t know if there is a specific position for Thomas, it feels like he runs all over the place in the game,” joked Flick when asked about Raumdeuter’s position for Die Mannschaft. “He’s a player that gives you more joy than headaches.”

While the 56-year old didn’t reveal the exact position, Flick went on to highlight the importance of having someone like Müller in a team, a leading player who serves as the instigator of his coach’s plans.

“He’s a player who is enormously important for any coach because he knows what to do, how to build the team,” Flick told Bild. “That’s why he’s an important factor.”

With the international break upon us, it remains exciting to see how Flick will setup Müller around the rest of the German attackers such as Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala.
