According to Abendzeitung reporter Patrick Strasser, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have agreed in principle on a transfer of Marcel Sabitzer to the Rekordmeister. Twitter account @iMiaSanMia captured the details:

Getting Sabitzer for €16 million to €18 million would be a steal.

According to Hasan Salihamidzic on Sky prior to Bayern Munich’s match against Hertha Berlin, Bayern are working to complete the transfer of Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig. Rumors have been building to this moment over the last several weeks, and it now appears that the move could happen any time now.

Sport 1’s Florian Plettenberg reported after Brazzo’s statement that his sources say that everyone expects the decision to happen very quickly. The transfer price will be around €15 million.

Bild+ confirmed that the two sides officially began negotiations on Saturday and expect things to wrap up pretty quickly.

BFW Analysis

Sabitzer has been the Bundesliga’s best non-Bayern player for several seasons in my opinion and has long been my “if you could sign one Bundesliga player...” player of choice. Signing a player of Sabitzer’s quality immediately boosts Bayern’s squad depth at multiple positions giving Julian Nagelsmann more flexibility as he looks to get Bayern playing the style that he wants.
