Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund interested in Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot

Could the German clubs make a last ditch effort to bring the Manchester United right-back?

After setting the transfer world on fire on Friday with the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus, Manchester United might be looking to shed some salary. According to a report from Sky UK (as captured by German outlet Tz), both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are contemplating a move for Red Devils’ right-back Diogo Dalot:

Julian Nagelsmann apparently wants a right-back with an offensive urge, such as the 22-year-old Portuguese Dalot. According to Sky UK, in addition to Munich, BVB is also interested. A loan with a subsequent purchase option is conceivable, but rumor has it that it would also be available for 15-20 million euros.

This is not the first time that Bayern Munich has been linked with Dalot, though. Back in 2018, when the right-back was with Porto, the Bavarians lobbed an inquiry his way.

From a Bayern Munich perspective, it would seem highly doubtful that the Bavarians would be in a position to make a move. Closely linked to both Marcel Sabitzer and Jonas Hofmann — and loosely linked to Matthias Ginter — Bayern Munich likely would have Dalot rated below that trio. Dalot is valued at €10 million on Transfermarkt.

At best, this seems like “connecting the dots” from Sky UK.
