Like everyone else, Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann had heard the transfer rumors surrounding defenders Niklas Süle and Chris Richards.

The new boss, however, does not think either player will leave the Bavarians (as captured by Bild). In fact, Nagelsmann is very happy with the progress made by Süle, who he also coached at Hoffenheim.

“With Niklas Süle, that’s out of the question. He is developing very well. He still has a lot left in him. The Dortmund game is the benchmark,” Nagelsmann said.

As for Richards, Nagelsmann thinks he also will be staying put.

“Don’t nail me down, but I assume that he will stay. He did a decent job in training, also made a serious impression in the cup. In one-on-one he is incredibly good,” Nagelsmann stated.

Nagelsmann likes the defense as a whole and does not think the club needs to add anyone else to the mix.

“We have enough center-backs, three established players (Lucas Hernandez, Niklas Süle, Dayot Upamecano), and Chris (Richards)who played a good season at Hoffenheim, and Tanguy (Nianzou) who is also a great talent. Pavard also can play there. We don’t want to have too many,” Nagelsmann said.
