Winners and losers for Bayern Munich in a back-three or back-four

When everyone is fit at Bayern Munich, who will get a chance to start and who will be benched?

It is just the start of the season, but Bayern Munich has already had problems with injuries. Lucas Hernandez missed the first couple of games but is still working on his comeback. Alphonso Davies was also injured but managed to get ready for the Bundesliga opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

After the international break, everyone should be fit. How will Julian Nagelsmann line his team up against RB Leipzig, especially in the defense, whether he chooses to go with a back-four or a back-three? In their recent analysis, Bild reports the current squad situation.

If Bayern lines up with a back-four, then Niklas Süle should be worried for his spot in the starting eleven. Nagelsmann will most probably go with Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano as the center-backs and Davies and Pavard on the sides.

If Nagelsmann decides on a back-three, then we will see Hernandez, Upamecano, and Süle as center-backs. In that situation, Pavard will be benched, and Leroy Sane or Jamal Musiala moved to the right wing-back position. The problem with Pavard is that he doesn’t have much to offer when he is moving forward.

Either way, Tanguy Nianzou is still considered inexperienced, and the coach wants to integrate him slowly.
