Lewandowski to Liverpool? Or maybe City? Or maybe United? (Raising the Kop)

If Bayern Munich striker striker Robert Lewandowski is trying to keep the outside noise at a low volume, his agent Pini Zahavi is not doing him any favors.

In addition to Manchester City and Manchester United, Liverpool FC also might have interest in the Polish Hitman (or his agent is just drumming all of this up):

Liverpool have been offered Robert Lewandowski, according to reports. Bayern Munich could cash in on the forward. This comes from journalist Ian McGarry. He told the Transfer Window Podcast that Robert Lewandowski has been offered to Liverpool. They’re not the only ones, however. Manchester United and Manchester City both have the same opportunity. The trio of Premier League clubs have ‘tepid’ interest in the striker, apparently. There will be a few factors involved in that.

“Lewandowski has been offered to Liverpool, to Manchester United and to Manchester City, each of whom have expressed a tepid amount of interest in the player regarding the possibility of signing him,” said McGarry. “However, each of them has also said that the €110 million (£94m) which Bayern are leaking to the German media that they would require to allow Lewandowski to leave is far too much for a player of that age.”

Meanwhile United’s bid for Lewy depends on Mbappe (Daily Express)

Zahavi is in overdrive with his ability to plant stories with the media:

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has been touted as a potential long-term transfer target for Manchester United. And there is speculation that Kylian Mbappe going to Real Madrid would set off a chain of events which could ultimately lead to the Red Devils making a move for the Polish international.

But according to transfer expert Duncan Castles, if PSG star Mbappe makes the move to Madrid, that could then lead to Paul Pogba going to the Parc des Princes, leaving United with the necessary money to potentially bid for Lewandowski.

Odiozola wants to start in Madrid and is leaving offers on the table (Transfer Market Web)

Real Madrid’s Alvaro Odriozola has suitors...he just doesn’t want to leave Los Blancos:

Full-back for Real Madrid Alvaro Odriozola remains undeterred in his pursuit of a starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu. Odriozola has been with Real Madrid for three years, having arrived for €30 million from Real Sociedad in 2018. But he has only made 31 La Liga games since then, playing a bit-part role amid fierce competition at right-back, and he was even sent out on loan to Bayern Munich last year.

Last season, the 25-year-old suffered with injuries, losing out on a chance to fight for the right-back place in the absence of Dani Carvajal, who was also sidelined.

Three teams have already inquired for the former La Real star, according to Diario AS, but he is adamant about staying, thinking he has a future at the Bernabeu.

The Weekend Warm-up Podcast (Bavarian Football Works)

With another crazy week in the books, the Weekend Warm-up podcast is here to hit all the latest Bayern Munich news — and there is no shortage of that.

Here are the topics we have on tap:

  • How things stand after matches against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund.
  • The news that Robert Lewandowski wants to move on why that means Bayern Munich needs to prepare to bid on Erling Haaland.
  • Why won’t anyone bid on Corentin Tolisso?
  • Is Bayern Munich taking a big risk by playing this season with Tolisso and Niklas Süle on lame duck deals?
  • The uncertain season ahead of Julian Nagelsmann — especially after declaring his roster was a bit thin.

Transfers rumors are colliding...a Ndombele-McKennie swap? (Transfer Market Web)

In Saturday’s Schmankerl, we saw the rumor linking Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie to Borussia Dortmund and later that day, we saw Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur rumored to be talking about a deal involving Corentin Tolisso and Tanguy Ndombele.

So naturally, if you spin the transfer rumor wheel, you’ve now got a McKennie-Ndombele trade rumor:

Failing to meet expectations, Weston McKennie is likely to move from Juventus. The midfielder is attracted to Tottenham Hotspur, is there any possible swab deal in the future? The replacement of Andrea Pirlo to Massimiliano Allegri gave a big change in Bianconeri. Especially for McKennie who is on the market transfer list, even though having impressive stats.

The American showed a good debut season with six goals and three assists in 46 official matches for the Vecchia Signora. But still, this is not enough when Allegri comes up as new club boss. Then, Tuttosport claims that the Serie A giant will sacrifice Weston McKennie to get another potential player. Interestingly, there is a possibility the deal will involve Tottenham Hotspur.

The fact Spurs have Fabio Paratici as their new director is going to make any possibility happen with Juventus. The report added, the Premier League side want to use Tanguy Ndombele as part of the deal. This exchange deal seems really profitable for Juventus who are looking for another great midfielder. Tanguy Ndombele has better stats than Weston McKennie with eight goals and set up eight more in 75 Tottenham Hotspur’s matches.

ICYMI: Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show (Bavarian Football Works)

My guy Schnitzel made his podcast debut on the preview show, so give him a listen.

Bayern Munich will be back in Bundesliga action this Sunday, and against Köln, they will look to carry the momentum from their thrilling 3-1 win against Dortmund that clinched them the DFL Supercup.

Köln started the season with a dominant 3-1 win against Hertha Berlin, and will therefore be no easy opponent. Bayern’s defenders will have their hands full with Köln’s speedy attack, but the Bavarians are no slouches either and would aim to trouble the opposition with some intense pressing and relentless attacking. Lewandowski in particular will be rearing to carry his elite goal-scoring form into this game.

Yes, Nagelsmann did show us some of what he might have in store for the fans this season in the victory against Dortmund, but the fact remains that he has yet to win a Bundesliga game with Bayern (I know, the team has only played one game, but still), and now will be the best time to get to winning ways.

Here’s what we have in store for you:

  • A quick intro (this is my first pod, after all!)
  • Some quick takeaways from Bayern’s game against Dortmund
  • The form of both teams going into the game
  • Key players and predicted lineups
  • A final score prediction
