RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has told his club that he wants to leave. A swirl of rumors has been following the Austrian and his potential departure for weeks. Bayern Munich is currently a favorite for his next possible destination.
However, the Bayern camp has held no concrete talks with their Bundesliga rivals over the Austrian. In addition, Bayern would need to sell first before making any reasonable contract offer. Although the German record champions are said to have €100 million in liquid cash, they aren’t willing to throw that around so easily.

If Bayern is liquidating some of its assets, it is likely that Corentin Tolisso, Bouna Sarr, Chris Richards, or Michaël Cuisance would be one of the names departing. Despite the club’s willingness to sell these players, it has been reported by Goal’s Kerry Hau that no offers have been made for any of these players.
Though other teams have expressed interest in the Austrian’s signature this summer, their bids are said to have little merit compared to Bayern’s. The 27-year-old wants to move to Bavaria. However, there are many hoops still to jump through if he is to arrive at Allianz Arena this window. As exciting as this transfer would be, you might want to reserve your hopes until Bayern sell other players first.
