Bavarian Podcast Works: First impressions and a new dynamic duo?

For the first time in BPW history, Tom and INNN team up for the flagship episode to discuss first impressions of Nagelsmann, and more!

The 2021/2022 Bundesliga season is officially upon us and match week 1 is in the books! Bayern Munich opened up their campaign with an entertaining 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach with the goals from Alassane Plea and Robert Lewandowski (who else?). It was Julian Nagelsmann’s first competitive match in charge as Bayern manager, but he was forced to field a handful of younger or fringe players, particularly in defense, with the amount of injuries the squad has already accumulated. Josip Stanisic impressed, Dayot Upamecano was decent, but there’s still plenty of work to do for Nagelsmann as he know switches gears to prep for the midweek DFL-Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.

For the first time ever on Bavarian Podcast Works, Tom and Ineednoname team up for this week’s flagship episode. We had to work to find a time to record, living on opposite ends of the globe, but it was a pleasure to get a new voice on the flagship show, as we’re making it a point this season to get some more voices involved on the podcast. This could be the birth of a new dynamic duo, with no discredit to Chuck or Jake, though I never shy away from making fun of Chuck. Let us know how we did in the comments section and thanks again for listening with us. We look forward to the rest of the season and being able to share it with all of you!

Thank you all for your continued support of Bavarian Podcast Works and be sure to leave us feedback in the comments section or on Twitter.

Yet again, we’re providing you the best audio content by giving you a wrap-up and recap of this most recent match.

In this episode Tom and Ineednoname discuss:

  • Our first impressions thus far of Nagelsmann
  • The crazy landscape of the transfer market this summer
Whether or not we think Bayern will sign Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig
  • The wage structure at Bayern
  • Who we think Bayern’s biggest European rivals will be this season
  • And more!
