No one on Germany’s roster was happy with the end result at the European Championships — especially Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane.
After getting bounced by England, Sane was among the players who felt like the team should have done much better.
“We all weren’t happy with our early elimination at the Euros. Although we lost to a very strong England team that reached the final. But that cannot be an excuse. We hardly managed to bring our individual qualities to the pitch. I’m personally not happy with the tournament,” Sane told Bild’s Tobias Altschaffl.
That exit marked the end of the Joachim Löw era. What happens next with Sane remains to be seen. New manager Hansi Flick had an up-and-down relationship while the twosome worked together at Bayern Munich. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Sane and his starting position on the squad under Flick.
