Bayern Munich U-19 opened the A-Junioren-Bundesliga Süd/Südwest season with a 4-1 victory over Freiburg. After a scoreless first half, Bayern sandwiched a Freiburg goal with two goals on either side to give new head coach Danny Galm a win in the first match.

The only real opportunity of the first half came when Arijon Ibrahimovic found Nick Salihamidzic, but his shot slammed off the post. Grant-Leon Mamedova scored Bayern’s first goal in the 54th minute. Yusuf Kabadayi doubled Bayern’s lead in the 70th minute, only for Leorat Bega to pull one back for Freiburg in the 80th minute.

However, Bayern would quickly regain control and put the match away. Mamin Sanyang was brought down in the 83rd minute, and Mamedova converted the penalty. Then, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Frans Krätzig sealed the 4-1 win with a goal.

Bayern XI: Hülsmann - Janitzek - Denk - Wenig (78. Krätzig) - Salihamidzic´ - Pavlovic - Kabadayi (78. Jonathans) - Ibrahimovic (90. Neziri) - Brekner - Mamedova - Wanner (60. Sanyang)

There’s obviously a massive tie with three points after one matchday, but it’s always nice to start the Bundesliga with a win. Bayern’s next match is Saturday, August 21 against partner club SSV Ulm.
