Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski scored his team’s only goal in a 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach and was not too thrilled with is squad’s effort on the day.
“What we played was not perfect soccer. We lacked pace and consistency. We can score, but Gladbach also had great chances. Now we have to look to the next game and prepare,” said Lewandowski (as captured by Tz).
Lewandowski said the atmosphere at Borussia Park made things hard, but enjoyable. For the first time in a very long time, things seem almost normal to the players.
“It’s not so easy to play here, the atmosphere was really cool,” Lewandowski said. “Such a game is something special with spectators and for us it was always problematic here. We have to do a lot of things better.”
The standards are still high in Bavaria and Lewandowski knows it. No satisfied with just scoring his goal, the Polish Hitman wanted three points and will now re-focus his energy toward Tuesday’s DFL-Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.
