Talks between Leon Goretzka and Bayern Munich are “positive”

Things are looking good for Leon Goretzka’s potential contract extension at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has been the subject of a media frenzy for a good portion of the summer.

The 26-year-old and his advisors are engaged in ongoing negotiations with Bayern Munich, but many fans are getting impatient in waiting for a deal to reach an accord as clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, and FC Barcelona all have reportedly expressed interest in the Germany international.

Per Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia), the discussions between Goretzka and the club are “positive.” In addition, a final decision between Goretzka and Bayern Munich is expected to be “announced this month”, but neither party has an exact date in mind.

With Joshua Kimmich’s signing imminent, it will be curious to see if the club tries to make a dual announcement — something that fans would probably be really happy about. Whatever the case, things look to be headed in the right direction for Goretzka’s future at Bayern Munich.
