The Bundesliga is back and Bayern Munich are the opening act — as usual, the season kicks off with the Champions getting things underway. This time, it’s Borussia Monchengladbach who look to deny the Bavarians a day 1 victory, and Julian Nagelsmann must figure out a way to kickstart what has been a lackluster managerial stint thus far.
Gladbach and Bayern already faced each other in preseason, the coverage of which you can find here. That game ended with the Bavarians suffering a sound 2-0 defeat, but it didn’t feature any of the main starters. Nagelsmann will have the luxury of fielding guys like Lewandowski, Muller, and Kimmich for the Bundesliga opener, which Bayern have not lost in a long time. Can he keep the streak going?
