As some Bayern Munich fans have navigated a very tenuous offseason and preseason, a segment of the supporters developed some negative thoughts about the upcoming campaign.

Whether it is the lack of funds available to splurge in the transfer market or the absence of progress in negotiations with some key players or even the stream of injuries the club has dealt with, some fans are worried about what might happen in 2021/2022.

Club CEO Oliver Kahn, however, thinks we should all have a optimistic outlook for this season — and new manager Julian Nagelsmann.

“I certainly believe that in this pandemic people would like to experience something new, something fresh. Something that is forward-looking,” said Kahn (as captured by FCBayern.com). “That creates excitement. Excitement is always good. A sense of optimism is even better. And that’s what we’re feeling here right now.”

Exactly — this season has not even really kicked off as of yet and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about what lies ahead.
