In a recent interview with the DFB website, Bayern Munich phenom Jamal Musiala indicated that being a professional footballer was a goal that the youngster always had in mind.

Through his stints with various clubs throughout Germany and England, Musiala has developed a laser focus on achieving his goal of being a professional. Still, did Musiala ever wonder what he might be doing if he was not living out his dream?

His answer: An Architect.

“It’s true, I’ve invested a lot in football. My plan was: Plan A. And then to give everything for it. But it wasn’t as if my life consisted entirely of football. For example, I’ve always loved drawing. And as a job? I used to be able to imagine becoming an architect very well. But it doesn’t matter that it didn’t work out either,” Musiala said with a laugh.

Musiala also understands that what he is doing at 18-years-old is nothing short of remarkable — and sometimes he has to remind himself of that.

“So many incredible things have happened to me so quickly lately, it’s not normal. Sometimes I have the feeling that I’m not really checking what it all means and how big it is,” said Musiala.
