Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn waffles on giving his Euro prediction

The new chief was careful not to let his pick slip out.

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn lives, breathes, eats, and sleeps football every day of every week of every month.

It is only natural to think that someone that deep into the game would have a favorite — at this point — for who was going to win the European Championships.

Kahn, however, did not want to give out his pick. Instead, he talked about the qualities of the remaining teams in the tournament and admitted he does not like to delve into the world of predictions.

“I like the mentality of the Danes very much. They throw everything in,” said Kahn (as captured by the team website). “Spain and Italy play at the highest level. England hardly conceded a goal and are very compact. I’m very careful with forecasts.”

Careful, indeed, but Kahn also has no skin left in this game. Germany was unceremoniously eliminated by England in the round of 16 and none — not one — of the current Bayern Munich players are still active in the tourney.
