Former Schalke 04 great Klaus Fischer remember Leroy Sane from his early days playing at Die Königsblauen.
What Fischer sees now in the player is a far cry from the confident, fearless attacker he saw back then.
“To be honest, I’ve been a little disappointed with Leroy so far,” Fischer recently told Abendzeitung. “I know him as a completely different player. What a feast for the eyes the boy was at the age of 18 at my heart club Schalke! This speed, this dribbling, a great finish with his left foot, just fabulous! And today: endless bad passes, crosses from one side to the other, but the goal is in the middle. He hasn’t ‘made it’ in the national team yet - and I actually expected more from him at Bayern, too. More has to come now.”
Fischer is not the only one calling for Sane to “step his game up.” Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic also recently said that Sane has his one year to acclimate and now expectations will be higher.
