Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry played mostly as an attacking midfielder/secondary striker against Napoli during his team’s 3-0 friendly loss.
While the Germany international was in the game, however, it at least was a draw.
Specifically, Gnabry and the rest of the regulars who were available played the first half to a stalemate against Napoli. When coach Julian Nagelsmann went deep into his bench, however, the game went wonky for the Bavarians.
“Of course, we’re a bit frustrated. You always go out looking to win games. It’s now about training certain processes together. We haven’t been able to do that often yet. Then everything will come together,” Gnabry said (as captured by FCBayern.com). “We’ve barely had a week together. It’s obvious things aren’t quite working yet. That’s why we need some time and more games, then we’ll find ourselves again.”
Gnabry is correct, the squad needs more time to gel under Nagelsmann — and starting Monday, it should have all of its uninjured players available for training.
