As the opening matchday of the Bundesliga inches ever closer, Bayern Munich play their fourth preseason game under coach Julian Nagelsmann. This time, it’s Serie A side Napoli who visit the Allianz Arena, under a new head coach in Luciano Spalletti. While both teams are looking to use this game for some valuable training, it’s still likely going to be an interesting watch.
This will likely be the last game where the large numbers of youth players and reserve team members get a callup. For the exceptional ones, this is a final opportunity to impress, to show that they deserve to be included in team training going forward. For others, it’s a chance to make an impression to prospective buyers, or perhaps angle for a loan deal.
