According to a report from Spanish out Defensa Central, Real Madrid is considering former Bayern Munich center-back Jerome Boateng as one of its potential options to help replace Sergio Ramos and Raphaël Varane.
Former Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, who signed with Real Madrid earlier this summer, will also be part of that solution:
As we have learned in Defensa Central first-hand and exclusively from sources close to the Los Blancos, Real Madrid is looking at three free central defenders that are on the market.
(Nikola) Maksimovic is 29 years old and free after finishing with Napoli. Two other options are (Jerome) Boateng and David Luiz, although both are older. However, they have experience to play for Madrid. Ancelotti’s men have given way to Ramos and Varane, the starting centrals, and have only brought Alaba. It is insufficient to qualify for a title next season.
Defensa Central, however, did not go as far as to guarantee that Real Madrid would sign any or all of the three defenders.
Éder Militão is expected to start with David Alaba, while Nacho will be a depth option for Carlo Ancelotti.
