This is a “bad news, good news, bad news” post for fans of Bayern Munich center-back Niklas Süle. Süle, of course, has seen suffered an injury setback on Thursday and has also seen his name bandied about in the transfer rumor mill.
Which one do you want first? The bad news? Okay, here you go...
Per Tz report Philipp Kessler, Süle missed practice against with a lower back issue:
#Süle (Blockade im unteren Rücken) pausiert heute, fehlt im Mannschaftstraining. Er wird stattdessen im Leistungszentrum behandelt. https://t.co/8qX0ArSzUv

#Süle (lower back blockage) is taking a break today, missing from team training. Instead, he will be treated at the performance center...
The good news? It looks like Süle will not be sold this summer. According to Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich has shelved any thoughts it might have had regarding a potential sale of the 25-year-old defender. More bad news, though, the two parties are also not close on a contract extension as of yet:
Regarding Niklas Süle, the current tendency is that he will not get sold this summer. A contract extension, however, is not yet in sight either [@Plettigoal, @SPORT1] pic.twitter.com/GR8K1pq2KH

Süle’s contract expires next summer, so to avoid the risk of losing the defender for free, Bayern Munich will need to extend or sell the big man in the coming weeks or months.
Chelsea FC reportedly has interest in the Germany international.
