Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca was used on a limited basis last season as he struggled — at times — to get acclimated to life on-and-off the pitch in Germany.
The young Spaniard kept a positive attitude through his tough 2020/2021 campaign and focused on doing anything he could to make life easier.
“In addition to the missed preparation (only came at the beginning of October; editor’s note), there are of course always the difficulties of getting to a new club and a new country with a different culture and language. I see it as a year of getting used to it, in which I had to learn a lot on and off the pitch,” Roca told Bild. “For example, I have German lessons with our club teacher three to four times a week. The acclimatization is now over, for me a new year begins. I’m no longer new and ready to take on more responsibility for the team.”
Roca’s current injury is just a temporary setback on his journey to making a career with Bayern Munich. The youngster knows there is a lot more of his story to be told.
