Bavarian Podcast Works Postgame Show: Bayern Munich takes on nemesis Borussia Mönchengladbach, inevitably loses 0-2

In a friendly where nothing much happened, Bayern lost 0-2 to Gladbach, who will be their first Bundesliga opponents when the season opens in August.

The friendlies are running out and Julian Nagelsmann is running out of time to win one. Today was no different; Bayern Munich went down to the team I consider their arch-nemesis, Borussia MönchengIadbach, 0-2. I wonder if Hansi Flick would have won his friendlies if he had the chance to play friendlies last season.

There were some solid performers out there. Malik Tillman had a good game as did Omar Richards; Richards’ performance matters because of all the injuries Bayern is contending with in defense. For Gladbach, long-term players such as Patrick Hermann disappointed but youngsters such as Connor Noss and Moustafa Moustafa impressed. Hannes Wolf put in a very good performance as well.

Perhaps Nagelsmann is learning more and more about which players he wants to promote.
