Whenever there is doubt about the coaching situation at Bayern Munich — and there was been much over the past five seasons — Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s name is always bandied about as being a candidate.
Former Bayern Munich defender Markus Babbel does not think Klopp would ever make the move to Bavaria and, in fact, would likely only end up with Germany, should Hansi Flick ever decide to step down.
“I don’t believe that he will go to another club after Liverpool. He will never go to Bayern Munich because he spent seven years at Borussia Dortmund who are their biggest rivals, so that will not happen. It wouldn’t be Jurgen Klopp, it would be the same in England he wouldn’t go to Manchester United after Liverpool,” Babbel told NetBet. “The only thing I can imagine is the national team after Hansi Flick whenever that may be. I think Liverpool will be the last club for Jurgen Klopp because in his eyes he came from Mainz who are an emotional club, the same with Dortmund and now Liverpool who you can’t get much better than.”
Should things eventually go south with Julian Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich, there will be rumors once more about the cub wanting Klopp. Those whispers — whether they have any merit or not — are just inevitable.
