Bayern Munich legendary defender Jerome Boateng is currently a free agent after his contract at the Bavarian club wasn’t extended. Now, he is weighing his options and that could include a future with Sevilla!
The rumor began with Sport1, who connected the center-back with a move to the Spanish side, and today it was confirmed by Christian Falk, who rated the rumor, with his trademark — ‘TRUE’.
TRUE ✅ @SPORT1 Jérôme Boateng (free Agent) is in talks with @SevillaFC. No decision yet

The defender wants to have another year of playing time on the highest level, and one of his most important requirements for his next club was a secured spot in the Champions League. So far, AS Monaco and AS Roma were the most interested, but since Roma didn’t qualify for the Champions League, they weren’t so attractive to Boateng.
Boateng was heavily linked with a move to Monaco, but it all suddenly went surprisingly quiet. A move to Sevilla might be a good option for Boateng, as Sevilla is a frequent participant in the Champions League and the Europa League, so he would get some high-level football in the twilight of his career.
Who knows? If he proves himself again, he might get a call in the national team from Hansi Flick.
