Julian Nagelsmann the “perfect fit” for Bayern Munich

Former Bayern Munich defender Markus Babbel is a fan of the club’s latest managerial hiring, Julian Nagelsmann.

“He is one of the biggest coaches in Germany, he’s still quite young, but he’s been coaching for over 10 years now. He started in the youth team, did a fantastic job at Hoffenheim, moved to Leipzig, and also did a fantastic job there,” Babbel recently told NetBet. “Bayern Munich were looking for a German speaking coach and it is clear that he is one of the top coaches in the world.”

Babbel is particularly intrigued by Nagelsmann because of Bayern Munich’s financial restraints.

“It will be quite interesting to watch because Bayern Munich are in a position where they can’t spend so much money. English teams can still spend a lot of money, sometimes you do not get the feeling there is a pandemic in England,” said Babbel. “In Germany the teams are struggling, Bayern lost £150 million, and they’ve said they can’t do any big transfers. They must be clever and bring in young talent and a coach who can work with this talent.”

Babbel thinks this is exactly why Nagelsmann is a great fit at Bayern Munich.

“Julian Nagelsmann is perfect because he has done this in the past, and he’s created a lot of players in national team players,” said Babbel. “Bayern must develop players so he’s the right man for the job.”
