Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has been at the center of a lot of news of late.
In the middle of what seems to have become somewhat contentious contract negotiations, Manchester United, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid have expressed interest in the Germany international. The lack of progress with the discussions has left Goretzka’s camp — allegedly — annoyed with the Bayern Munich front office.
While Real Madrid is content to wait until next summer where they can get Goretzka on a free transfer, Manchester United is ramping up its efforts to bring in Goretzka now, according to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk:
Update Goretzka: @ManUtd offer @leongoretzka_ a higher salary than @FCBayern. the next round of negotiations with Bayern will follow

There has been no official word on what Bayern Munich’s offer to Goretzka was, but we did see differing reports on how much Goretzka wants. Some have said Goretzka wants to be paid like Bayern Munich’s most elite players with a €20 million salary, while other reports say that’s not the case.
Regardless, it seems like Manchester United is getting very serious in its pursuit of the 26-year-old.
