Bayern Munich manager is widely regarded as one of the top young coaches in the world. His detractors, however, always have a consistent theme when discussing the new boss in Bavaria: a lack of trophies.
“I think it’s funny when people say he’s going Bayern without having won any title. I haven’t managed Real Madrid or Barcelona. If I end my career without titles, I wouldn’t be sad to death, but it would be nice to have titles to my name,” Nagelsmann told kicker (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “When I look back to my career, I don’t just want to say I was a good coach, I want my players to say that I was a good person. The coach is forgotten faster than how the man acted towards his players.”
At 33-years-old, it is a little crazy for Nagelsmann to be judged on the amount of titles he has won. Still just a baby in his coaching career, Nagelsmann earned the opportunity to manage Bayern Munich, which should help him be able to check that off of his “to-do” list.
