Per a report from Sport Bild (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia), Chelsea FC has contacted super-agent Pini Zahavi regarding Bayern Munich star striker Robert Lewandowski.
After failing to make any headway in a pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, Chelsea has allegedly turned its eye to the Polish Hitman, who reportedly finds the reigning Champions League winners as “interesting.”
Surely, Chelsea would be willing to increase Lewandowski’s already lofty salary.
Regardless, Bayern Munich will need to be on alert as many of its players have become hot targets on the transfer market. Should the Bavarians lose key players like Joshua Kimmich or Leon Goretzka, players like Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer could lose faith in the board and might be willing to play elsewhere according to the Sport Bild report.
Bayern Munich seems to be a one-man army in a fight against rising salaries in Europe. With so many talents in their prime — and who want to be paid that way — any key player loss could have a trickledown effect.
