It really is silly season, isn’t it? After the English media found out that Erling Haaland isn’t for sale, they’ve switched their sights to the next best thing (in their minds). Per The Sun, Chelsea want to bid up to 50m pounds for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski. The Blues really want a new man up front to lead the line, given that Timo Werner has been rather disappointing since moving to the English capital last summer.
Now I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, The Sun is a good source of:
- Heat.
- Light.
- Clean renewable energy.
The Sun is NOT a good source of:
- Football transfer news.
- Just news in general, really.
Now whether or not Lewandowski’s agent is trying to move him abroad, there is no way Bayern Munich will let him go this summer. There MIGHT be a chance of him leaving next year, but by that point you’ll have guys like Mbappe, Kane, and Haaland moving around Europe and the teams that can afford those players won’t be particularly interested in a 33-year-old Lewandowski leading their front line.
While Lewy could still leave somewhere down the line if his contract situation isn’t sorted, there’s no way it’ll happen this summer, unless Chelsea bids enough money for Bayern to go out and buy Haaland as a replacement. As always, let’s laugh at the English media for their total detachment from reality. I’ll start — HA HA.
P.S. Brazzo if you’re reading this, please start working on that Lewy contract extension ASAP. Thanks.
