Bayern Munich dropped a 3-2 decision to FC Köln in Julian Nagelsmann debut match and there were some very good parts of the game...and some others that, well, were not so good.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was a surprise starter in the match as he was expected to miss time after arriving late to Säbener Straße. The veteran got the nod, however, and felt good about hitting the pitch with his teammates.
Still, Choupo-Moting was measured about what fans — and the team — should take out of the fixture.
“We take the positives with us. That was a good test for us, even if you never like to lose,” said Choupo-Moting to Magentasport (as captured by Tz). “Köln is already further along. It was great to play in front of fans again.”
The outlook is no doubt one that most veterans will take. The young players, meanwhile, had a lot more riding on the match than any established players. For them, the match might have felt like it was a lot more important than it really was.
