Bayern Munich II marked their return to the Regionalliga Bayern with a 3-0 win against Augsburg II. Gabriel Vidovic, Nemanja Motika, and Oliver Batista Meier were the three goalscorers for Bayern.

The average age of the team that head coach Martin Demichelis put on the field in this one was only 20.7 years old, and that includes 34-year-old Nicolas Feldhahn and 31-year-old Timo Kern.

Demichelis was happy with the work that his young team did on the day. “The team showed a very good performance and deserved the win.” He continued, “In the first half, almost everything that we set out to do worked out. I’m very satisfied. We want to continue like this.”

It’s been hard to even begin to guess what the season is going to look like for Bayern II, because we really don’t even know what kind of squad the club is going to have at the conclusion of the summer transfer window. How many of these players will still be with Bayern II? How many of the young kids that are training with the first team all summer (and there’s a bunch!) will be returning to Bayern II once the regular first team players return from their summer break? How many of them will be going out on loan? It’s all hard to guess!

Bayern XI: Mayer - Kehl, Feldhahn, Arrey-Mbi, Brückner (83. Marušić) - Aydin (75. Kabadayi), Wenig (60. Metu), Kern - Batista-Meier, Vidović, Motika

On Friday July 23, Bayern II will host SV Heimstetten at the Grünwalder Stadion in Munich.

It’s going to be hard to give any information beyond “here are the basic facts of the match” this season with the club being in the Regionalliga as live games and (sometimes) highlights will be hard to come by, but we’ll do our best.
